LiveReport - can I connect to an external DB?

I am trying to execute a LiveReport, with a simple select,  against an Oracle otic DB, using a WebForms connection.  When I execute it I get an error. Can I use an external DB? If so which log can I check for detail on this error?

If you look in your connect logs you should see the SQL with the appropriate error code for your database.

You can use other databases in your SQL if you have "linked databases", otherwise you will have to amend the OScript to allow the connections in your code / LiveReports.
