LAPI - ListNodes equivalent

Hi, I am wondering if LAPI (Java) can perform the equivalent of ListNodes which is available in our Livelink module. I can see there is ListObjects but i don't think this does what i want. In our module we pass ListNodes a list of doc IDs and it returns back a list of document objects the user has permission to see. I want to perform the same but in Java.

HI Nick,

ListObjects returns the direct child of the specified object basesd on permission.

I am using ListObjects, that lists all the documents/folder based on the permission.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. We use ListObjects which works as expected. What i want to do is to be able to what LuistNodes does. I want to be able to use LAPI and a list of ids and then LAPI return a list of objects that the user has permission to see on the list of ids. If i call ListNodes in our module i can specify where DataID in (mylistofids) and say out of the possible 5 ids i may only be allowed to see 2. Does LAPI have this ability or be used in this fashion? Thanks!

Did I understand it right that you wish t check a list of node IDs for the current user permissions and return IDs (or complete node infos) for the nodes that he user is allowed to access? Something like this?

List<ID> CheckPermissions(List <ID> nodeIDs, permMask)

List<NodeInfo> GetAccessibleNodes(List<ID> nodeIDs) // check see permission

Hi, Ferdinand that is correct but i want to do it via Java LAPI and i cannot see the API calls that allow me to do such a thing if at all possible.

There are no such functions in the core LAPI.

You would have to implement them for your purpose in OScript and deploy on the server with your own module. For example, OT AGA deploys a module including such LAPI calls for bulk permission checking, but only to be used internally from within the product.
