Create a document of a file previously uploaded to AS

Is it possible via the CS EWS API to insert a document to CS by, instead of uploading the contents of the file through the API, only sending a docID & archID of a document previously uploaded directly to AS via a docrm DP doctool?

And if it is then how do I do that?

Just correction: Of course not docrm, but doctodms doctool.

Hi Petr,

No product functionality exists that allows you to create new node metadata in Content Server for something that’s already in the archive server.

Thank you. I thought it's possible, but I rechecked how doctoles works and you are right. It's not using doctods, but directly puts document into CS.

Indeed it is possible to create a Content Server document from an existing Archive Server document.

The functionality is calledmakeRecords and is provided by the Enterprise Library Services API. There exists the Enterprise Library DocTool, which you can use for the makeRecords functionality from within the Pipeline.
