Search WEB Services

I posted this is the WEB Services forum, but thought maybe someone in this forum would be able to answer...

I am conducting a search via a WEB service call, however end users are receiving no results found in the search results. Those same users can go into CS10 and complete a search and they are receving the results in their search. When I run the same search via WEB Services I get documents returned back to me (note that I have system admin priv's). If I set system admin priv's on a user that failed previously via WEB services, they now get results. I have checked permissions on all aspects of search and the doucments and they are set correctly.. Any advise would be appreciated. Here is a summary of what is happening (please keep in mind I am using the same query for every example below)

1. End user conducts a search via WEB Serives - No results found
2. End user conducts same seach in the CS10 UI - Results found
3. I (with sys admin priv's) conduct same search via WEB services - Results found
4. End User conducts same search via WEB Services, but now has System Admin Priv's enabled - Results found.

Any help would be appreciated.

Can this end user without SA priv actually open/download the document?

does the user profile for this user contain 'Public access' and the search volume or templates have 'PA' in them

a user is using the search template volume to search.OT leaves 'PA' on the search volume so any user with 'PA' can see that template

some orgs will actually change user profiles and search profiles

by giving SA to the user what you are doing is a "no hold s barred" search

Kyle recently commented that search webservices will be going out in favor of the

(XML)search Api(Restful) .I am sure you can call ?func=search in code t o get what you need.

just some thoughts as this PA thing is something sometimes that gets overlooked
