Livelink Builder 9.7.1 and Advanced search

Hi I am using livelink builder 9.7.1 and I am unable to do an advance search

Attempting to start sevices as shown on the snapshotbelow gives errors :"The admin server for this process has been marked as unavailable, the process cannot be commanded to start"

Attention, a problem has occurred: Could not create a command line The config path from the Admin Server[Default] has been returned invalid, Contact Technical Support

I can make advamce searches if i run livelink under livelink services but not through livelink builder.
Is it normal for the advance search not to work under builder?

You should have a admin services near the livelink service it is the one that is responsible for searching you have to start it.If this is just a dev machine and you own this there is no harm trying to make it work.If it is affecting others ask a experinced admin so that you don't inadvertently cause trouble in the org.

BTW when the admin is on and your machine is the default admin server you will see crazy pieces of information in the builder debug window almost making it impossible to debug .So what you can do is to turn the 'extractor' off

E:\webApps\opentext\bin\llbuilder.exe webbuilder.lxe E:\webApps\opentext\config\opentext.ini -loadjavavm

I am not sure if you need the -loadjavavm for search but in general most oscript to java needs that like OJ bridge,webdav,zipdownload etc so

I keep it as default in mine.

actually on my vm stopping the extractor only gives you only a little solace.I see the 60 sec heart beat again but can search

it is better than the extractor process running only a tad bit.Somebody else on this forum with search exp will probably hint what they do

There should be no problem running the admin service alongside Builder.

It is necessary for search dev work anyway.

The javaserver is not used by (most of) search, so it’s not necessary (there are a couple obscure cases where it is used for HTTPS connections).

If the admin server hosting the processes is unavailable, then you can’t interact with those processes.

You need to ensure that admserv is running alongside Builder.

I have started Livelink Admin service and the search is now working in the Builder
