Document Storage

Hello,

I wanted to know Are the documents that are created on content server stored on the database or is it only the link to the document that is stored in the database and it is indexed?

How does document storage work in ECM?

when you originally install livelink you are presented with two choices do you want to keep it inside(SQL storage like what $harepoint does:))

or do you want to give me a filepath for storage.If you add archive storage module then you get to store it in archive as well.If you go to
a livelink and say visit the 'Storage Providers' link you will get to see what it is being used

A common user upload can be explained like this

User uploads local file from browser,a http file control puts user's file in webserver's configured directory(the simplest mechanism)
Livelink code(Request Handler) picks up the file creates the node and puts the version on what the organization set the 'rule' to be.
