Exclude deleted fodlers from report

I have a report listing all the folders under a certain container that have Public Access that works fine except that it shows deleted folders.

I am not sure the best way to eliminate these from the report. Is it when the DTree.OrignOwnerId or DTree.OriginDataId is zero? I tried to look at the status filed in DTree, but it is null.

A delted node in livelink usually moves to a different volume

If I had to guess dtree.ownerid should be different for items in deleted volumes

If you delete something in livelink and if it moves to undelete or recycle bin then its ownership changes

Have a look at the canned reports as well if you are using undelete or recycle

If the ownerid is different you can say not in that ownerid

most things in enterprise will have the ownerid of EWS like 2000 in most places

It would be the "ownerid" that will show you. It should be '-2000' or maybe a project, but find the value for the Recycle Bin vol and use that value to exclude.

Hi Donna,

A deleted object like a folder should not be detectable in the hierarchy.

So you probably have a mistake in your query.

What version / cumulative patch level are you using?

Oracle or SQL Server?

Are you using Document Undelete or the Recycle Bin module?

What is the SQL statement you are using to determine the objects in the hierarchy below a given start point?

Thanks everyone for the quick response. Apparently there were 2 folders with similar names - one deleted and one not deleted. The not deleted one I did not have access to see so I was not seeing it in the GUI, but I was seeing it my report because I had not added the 'filter permissions' option yet.

I appreciate all the information. It helps to give me an understanding of what happens to the deleted items.

Keep in mind that CS 10 Update 11+ systems will have DTree as a view, which masks deleted items from view.

The underlying DTreeCore table will show these deleted items, if you need to see them via a report.
