How to create a new classification?

I am trying to use OpenText.Livelink.Service.RecMan.RecordsManagement to create new classification but I can't find the right method to use it.

I know how to get or set existing classification with an object, but how to create a new one?

Can someone help me please. Thank you.

Hi Dejan,

I don’t believe that creating a new classification is possible through the RecMan web services.

You can only apply a classification that already exists in Content Server.

could you please tell me how we can add a classification on an object in CS10.5 or later version?

Best thing is to search this forum and RM forums.The Classification/RM Classification are not created throug SOAP,however most programmers are called in to Apply/Attach calssifications/RM Classifications(there are differences) .If you know oscript then you can use that to create your own classification creator.Most of us get that file out as XML and build what we need and upload them to another through the GUI

Here is a sample I wrote to show different possiblities in RM

. I assumed you as a starter if not apologies.SOAPUI is very useful when you start developing.I would also encourage you to look through Fiddler when you use the GUI to attach/apply a classification.

The java file in my blog link has been lost I put it here again.If you do it it with C# it should be much too easier as the ideas are the same.I will replace them slowly.
