Hi there,
We are trying to determine the root cause of a lot of SQL performance issues that we’ve been experiencing which is causing a lot of issue. When there is any kind of load on the SQL server, there are numerous deadlocks and waiting tasks thus resulting in SQL statements getting dropped (entries not being made in tables – orphaned documents), long wait times for Content Server users when browsing/saving/etc.. and overall poor application performance. When these issues are occurring, the CPU on the SQL server appears to be normal, and there is free memory as well. The issue is it seems like the SQL server cannot keep up with the amount of tasks coming in and cannot process them fast enough. When we upgraed to CS10 from 9.7.1 we noticed a huge impact on the SQL server (facets, agents, etc..) I'm trying to determine if the issue is because we are running our SQL server in a shared VMware environment?
Can you respond with what your SQL Server specs are? and whether you are running in a VMware enviornment? Also, can anybody from Open Text also respond with any suggestions/reccomendations?
Thanks,
