Document Name hyperlink in webreport

I have a webreport displaying document names (coming from a live report). I need to hyperlink all the document names so that on clicking the name it will open the document in native format (like MS Word or Excel). What the best way to create the hyperlink inside the web report and is there any tag for that?

Hi Ani,

You can do this using the LLURL tag. You’ll probably want to use LLURL:DOWNLOAD.

A sample you can put into your row section to generate this link would be as follows:

<TD> <a href= "[LL_REPTAG_URLPREFIX /][LL_REPTAG=DATAID LLURL:DOWNLOAD /]">[LL_REPTAG=Name /]</a> </TD>

This will generate something like the following link:

http://hostname/virtualdir/livelink.exe?func=ll&objId=12345&objAction=download

Hi Ani,

You may want to check on the availability of a tag in the WebReports forum (WebReports & ActiveView Forum).

If you have your WebEdit settings configured to allow for edit / read-only edit (aka “open”) for Office MIME types in the admin pages, then you can just use a shortlink to link to the file (http://host/virtualdir/cs.exe/open/DATAID).
