Error when creating first project in IDE

Hi,

I am trying to use the new Eclipse plug-in. I tried two attempts at project creation. In both cases, they complained about the project description being invalid. I deleted the first project after I was unable to start the Oclipse VM. I am attaching the error message I got when I tried to create a second project having deleted the first:

Is there anything obvious wrong? My environment is the following:

* Windows 7x64 (running on VMWare)

* Java 7u45 (both x64 and x86 plug-ins installed)

* Eclipse 4.31

* SQL Server 2012 db installed

Further questions:

* Is it still possible to run the Oscript VM without having a module? Let's say you want to debug something in core LL? I have to do this often for clients when we can't get good error information otherwise or if a stack trace occurs.

* How does one go about browsing existing ospaces? For instance, before I would make a customization, I would need to look at the Ospace I'm overriding. It doesn't seem to be possible to do this, but this may be a result of the problems encountered already.

* Is there going to be any course material developed for Livelink developers migrating to CS 10.5? If so, when is this to be offered?

Hi Hugh,

Even I experienced similar issue. But I don't remember the exact error.

Following workaround helped me to overcome, hope that helps you too:

1. Go to "%ECLIPSE_HOME%\configuration\.settings" and delete the workspace listed at the key RECENT_WORKSPACES

2. Restart Eclipse.

3. Now I could create new project.

Questions:

<![if !supportLists]>2. <![endif]>Then in Module Explorer you can put break point/debug something in core LL

>> You can look at all the existing ospaces in Module Explorer like before in Builder. You can see this once you successfully create OScript project.

-In Module Explorer you could see the currently running Content Server. Module Explorer is Similar to previous Builder.

Hi Hugh,

You need to place your project location somewhere other than in a workspace subfolder. This is an Eclipse limitation. Apologies for the vague error message.

I've managed to create an empty project so that I can break-point any core ospace feature. I noticed that when running as the server, I'm not seeing a lot of log messages. In Builder, I recall that even with debug=0, you got a fair bit of debug information streaming through the builder (not in the threadN.logs). Has this changed? I presume Oclipse will offer only as much debug as is set in opentext.ini.
