WebService .net use with Windows Authentication

Hi,

Can i check is there any configuration or settings we have to do on IIS or on the server setting file to allow both Normal and Window Authenticaiton Access?

I have two seperate application trying to access Web Service. one uses Normal login while one uses Window Authentication.

Do you know if you use old Directory Services module to do SSO or the new OTDS module that acts as the auth provider

If you use CSDS or the old Oscript directory services, your web services website should be put to IWA just like the livelink website ,and the Web.Config that OT supplies

to be amended.Google for MS recommendation on how to change it for IWA.

I do it like this and I have some documentation on how I achieve this.Frankly I work with livelink's debugging tools,fiddler and a lot of web research on how to do this.

My gut feel having never done this with OTDS is

In your code your auth service will be the RCS auth service,do not ask the webservices auth service,read this as a different WSDL.
Then when you are successful you put the successful token form OTDS to do your code
My gut feel is the web services website would be anonymous with the standard Web.Config

and a lot of patience....

and BTW if you have a SA user you can impersonate any user in livelink and kind of make it look like SSO a lot of apps like the Sharepoint to Livelink or some xECM things do that and call it SSO.

plenty of impersonation code around to consume

Wow, This is new coming since i came from the LAPI days. This round however, Its not my codes. I have two application, the Opentext Capture Center and DocCorps PDFDocs Modules that are causing the problem. I can't make adjustment to the codes. but can't help wondering that there must be some configuration to allow both to work.

I sympathize on your plight but if they are OT vended apps and if they claim to work under the proper configurations you should chase OT to deliver what needs to happen.

I made one of the Doc Pipeline tools work under IWA,because OT did not have the right answer for that as well.In its heart a pipeline tool was a LAPI client to livelink.

What I did was to run the Doc Pipelines as a 'Authenticated User'. For e.g I would change the service user running the pipeline to a domain user who is known to livelink

Then after looking at the LAPI logs I could see the REMOTE_USER getting passed in and it worked.

So configure the OCC to talk to as a Authenticated Livelink instance and put wantlapilogs=true and debug=2 and see what credential is coming thru
sometimes you would strike pay dirt.

Use Wireshark or Fiddler to see and piece out the transmission
