Empty groups

Hi all

We are running content server 10 with MSSQL and in a previous version of Livelink (v9) I had a report which provided me with a list of empty groups using the syntax below

select a.name from kuaf a where a.type=1 and a.deleted=0 and a.id not in (select distinct b.id from kuafchildren b)

SInce we upgraded to content server 10 this report is not working and returns with nothing even though I know I have at least one empty group

Any ideas on how I can get a livereport on empty groups in content server 10 on MSSQL?

Tried this and I still get nothing back even though I do have emtpy groups

Then I'd question whether you do have empty groups. If you have a DB Tool, use it to open the DB and the KUAFCHILDREN table. Select one Group you know is empty to see if there are any entries. If there are, double-check the specs/fields of the group in KUAF. You could also run a DB Verify on a weekend to see if there are any missing pieces.

I definitely have one empty group as I took everyone out of it yesterday but have not as yet removed the group.

Hi David,

Is it possible the group has been used within a Project?

As you know the ID of the group, run this query…

Select * from Kuafchildren where childId = <your empty groupID> or ID = <your empty groupID>

You might get rows back that have ID values from project groups so they would not show up in the normal user/group interface.

Projects is not something we make use of but I thought it might be worth giving this a try however I still get nothing back in the results
