CS 10 installation

Hi All,

Pleasse need help on the CS10 installation. I have installed SQLServer 2012, IIS and CS 10. Installation was successful. I can see the content server home page where it will ask to set up the database. I am trying to give the sql server name as : MSSQLSERVER, uid:sa and pasword but getting error. if any of you got similar issue and fixed?!?! please let me know the fix

Hi Madhavi,

Did you perform a restart of the server as well after you installed MSSQL and then tried connecting to it?

What exactly is the error that you are getting while inputting these credentials?

HI Madhavi,

If SQL Server is installed on the same machine, then you can enter “localhost”.

Else if SQL Server is installed on other machine, please enter the Server Name[HostName] or IP.

If you have 2 dedicated servers for CS10 and SQL server, issue might be with connectivity as well.

So SQL client tool must be installed in the CS10 installing machine/server.

it always confuses me when I do sqlserver which is more involved(wait till you clone) so when it worked I captured screen caps.I am not a SQLserver admin so

It has to be because livelink cannot understand the connection try playing with the ports etc and you will see light.

and also check release notes you say SQlserver 2012 that sound too new... Does OT support it?

Dear All, Thanks very much for the quick replies, I have installed the CS10 with IIS. It works fine except the Workflow MAP. Need your help to provide me the details of configuring Tomcat with IIS. Thanks in advance.

To paint a WF map in CS10 livelink you do not need to run livelink in a Tomcat server.If you are not on the latest version of livelink which is 10.5 all previous versions of livelink are basically a java applet.If you need to run livelink in a non IIS web server then that is another thing.

To fix it yourself you will need a few freebies (Fiddler) as well as some time to debug the problem.You could have researched this yourself but I guess you are in a time crunch to get something going

From your desktop computer go to a site that will allow you a JRE (not the Java SDK ,although it also puts a JRE.You will need the SDK if you want to run Tomcat ) with a version that is above 29.As I write this I paint my java applets with a 32 bit Java 1.6 34.Make sure you install it and you see the familiar success .None of this has any connection to livelink.You are just trying to make java applets work.Once installed you would double click the java control panel and set debug so you can see debug info when a java applet is painted/run.

I have added the WF applet painting way my way of configuring IIS in here which I found by trial and error.Applets are essentially security problems so in case you are not a IIS admin you should ask OT or your org's security/IIS people

If I have to check the thread log to know the reason?

Hi,

Did you enable “HTTP-only Cookies” on the “Configure Security Parameters” page?

Are you able to edit text documents directly from CS and save the changes? The editor of the text document is also a java applet, so this will tell if it is an java applet problem or a Workflow Painter problem.
