Enterprise Library module for Content Server 10.5

Hi,

I'm looking to install the Enterprise Library module for Content Server 10.5. I was advised to install this in order to work on developing against the Content Server APIs. Looking in the Modules section of the Content Server page (https://knowledge.opentext.com/knowledge/cs.dll?func=ll&objId=16534305&objAction=browse&sort=name), I do not see the Enterprise Library module.

Would someone please point me to where I can find the module installation and also the documentation for the Enterprise Library APIs?

ELS is basically something that is deployed in a Tomcat Server usually in a xECM or similar kind of project. Allows you to model objects and put them in livelink with a shell.

The flow basically is like this

Client code-> ELS module deployed in Tomcat(sometimes called RCS)-> Livelink Server

-> and or archive server

Livelink has a API that is already built which can be deployed in IIS or Tomcat or you can use if you deploy that in a RCS scenario as well

the flow basically is

Client code->Livelink webservices endpoint(webserver))-> Livelink Server(usually the same server as the webserver)

Think of EWS or CWS as a productivity add thing for livelink,somebody wants to add thousands of documents,folders,users etc en- masse you use that.If you have a integration point that needs to reach into livelink you would use this or the new REST Api.

ELS is used when say for instance you would want some objects in SAP with attached documents in archive server to be turned around so that one could apply livelink RM business rules.So in the project we create ELS items to represent the SAP object totally modeled using a GUI and you call code that can create instances of that.

Usually ELS will mean a lot of setup work and comes with its own installer that will walk you thru the scenarios

In contrast to get productive in EWS you just need to follow the install guidelines and these examples

The link you sent appears to be for the web service API. I'm looking for the Enterprise Library SOAP API. Where can get the module installation for this?

With version 10.5 the installation of Enterprise Library has become much easier.

You simply run one additional setup to install into Tomcat, giving the Content Server connection params there.

And you run the Extensions for Enterprise Library module installer in Content Server.

Then you connect CS to OTDS, and you connect CS to AS (optional), and connect AS to CS (optional)

No further configuration required for EL.

No RCS required anymore.

To answer the original question: Please download the Content Suite Platform 10.5 ISO. It contains the Mastersetup which lets you conveniently install all required components, incl. the Extension for Enterprise Library module for Content Server.

Ederich_Koltzow

The best ISO download that you can get for 10.5 with patches and the correct Tomcat and Java is the Extended ECM for SAP Solution ISO. It also includes Extended Archive Server installation that includes all the modules that you need for the Archive Server.

And it even has the installation for the Content Server 10.5. This is the installation I used on the project I am busy with.
