New CWS Documentation!

Jason_Smith

We have just released some new CWS documentation for Content Server 10.5 (although most of it is applicable to the older versions as well).  You can find it here:

https://knowledge.opentext.com/knowledge/cs.dll/Open/45500683

You can view it on the KC or download a copy for offline use (download link for the offline copy is on the home page).

Feel free to provide any feedback in this thread.

Thanks.

Very Nice attempt and very much needed. Here's a wish list of things

1. The sample shows creation of categories through CWS API and then applying it.In most livelink places category creation is a restrcted privilege.I have had manty developers aks why they could not have category creation privs. What suffices in most places  would be an e.g indicating if there was a category present either on a parent node or in the volume, how to read it in and use that for document addition.Poor developers will mistake this as for adding metadata a category template has to be created every time .
2. Almost every place has IIS as the webserver with NTLM/IWA.So an official sample that helps a CWS developer work with a revised Web.Config and App.Config. Most examples assume the webgui user logs in with a userid/password while it is not difficult to accomplish that most livelink installs pass the IWA token to livelink to get SSO effect.

BTW helping the Java side of the house and OTDS included is very nice and thoughtful.

Commendable and keep up the good work
