RequestHandlerGroup object

Hi,

I've managed to orphan a request handler object and created a request handler. Now to get it working, I would normally go to my RequestHandlerGroups object and run the SetRequestHandlers script. In my object, I cannot see any script to run. Further, I don't see the .fRequestHandlers feature overridden as I would expect (given that the module/ospace creation results in the admin.Configure request handler automatically being created and the module is installable).

So, my question is, what is the correct way to register my request handler in 10.5? Is it supposed to be the same as in previous versions? Here is a screen shot to outline my dilemna

I think I found the answer. When I looked in the module view, it appears like a) you can access inherited functions from there (although I'm sure this is not the correct way to do things if you're trying to establish the best practice of always modifying in the source and not on the server), and b) the SetRequestHandlers function is getting run automatically.

Given b) above, it appears that running the SetRequestHandlers on my RequestHandlerGroups object is moot. Could someone from OT confirm that?

So what is the deal SetRequestHandlers now in the eclipse world, well you dont need to run it anymore. In fact you do not need to to have the following override and it can be removed from your source code.

override List f__InitObjs

And now you ask why? I have been doing this for 20 years and now you tell me it is no longer needed? When this function was implemented systems were much slower and building such lists were time consuming. During the development of 10.5 we found that simply building the list at runtime was little extra cost and it ensured that the list was maintained correctly. How many times when adding a new handler you restarted and forgot to run the SetRequestHandlers function. A bit of cursing at the enviroment came next :-) So what ever values are in there are actually ignored and the list rebuilt.

Now, this is 10.5+ functionality, if you are developing on 10.0- this is and the manual step is still needed. Sorry, some technical debt to carry forward in this case.
