Make mandatory while uploading a document

Hi ,i am looking for the cusotmization to make certain fields mandatory while upload a document or after uploading a document. applicaiton should force the user to update those feilds. for example classification or type of record etc.

My requirement is that this mandatory should apply both in content server and as well as in enterprise connect

Not sure if this is the right place to put this query or not. If NOT, please help me in redirecting to right forum.

Dhana,

This sounds like you are talking about required Categories and Attributes, if the Attribute in a Category that has been added to a document as part of the Add Document process, or inherited from its container, then you won't be able to add it without completing the required attributes.

Hi i'm having same requirement.
To make filling up category as Mandatory when user upload the file through Enterprise Connect or Web interface.

I've check out the Required attribute page the option is there but later i found out that user are actually have option to Remove the whole category & proceed with file upload, even i've set Required for the attribute.

This kinda defeat the purpose to have the option to set category as "Required".

Please guide me if i might have missed out any setting required, to hide the Remove button and ensure all required category are properly fill up if user are uploading their file via Enterprise connect and Browser Login.

Hi Christopher,

Unfortunately, there is no such setting that magically disables the Remove button from both the Add Item page and the PropertiesàCategories page. The user can always remove the categories if he feels lazy to enter them in.

What we have done as a workaround is tooverride the weblingo files at these locations, by means of an IF statement, to decide whom to show this button. Right now, we have set it in such a way that only an Admin can barring anyone else.
