OScript function not working

Hi,

I have two content server environment as below

1. DEV - Content server with Webreport update 3 module

2. Test - Content server with Webreport update 2 module

I have written a function in WebReport OSpace. When I called this function from Test Environment it is giving me expected result. But for DEV it is giving an error "can only call script or External API functions".

Same steps are followed to create this function in Test and Dev.

Can you please suggest any solution for this

Hi Raghav,

No third party developers should be making direct modifications to the WebReports ospace.

WebReports provides the options of adding oscript in reportviews using the STARTSCRIPT/ENDSCRIPT tags and creating custom subtags using text file drop-ins by placing them in the module subtags directory. This should cover most requirements for extending functionality.

If these features don’t allow you to extend WebReports in the way that you need then you should orphan the appropriate object into your own custom ospace and override it from there.

Can you send through the output of [LL_REPTAG_SUBVERSION /] for both systems and attach the trace file please.

Hi Raghav,

I would recommend putting DEV and TEST on the same version of WebReports to rule out any WebReports specific changes. You could also compare the following entries in the [WebReports] section of the opentext.ini:

EnableOscriptReportviews

OscriptAllowWholePkg

OscriptAllowFunction1

These control various Server Side Settings for the instance including packages and specific functions, so make sure they have the same values.

If the oscript calls code in optional modules I would check that the same module version is installed on both instances. To be sure, it's probably worth checking the Content Server versions are the same too, in case whatever is being called was changed in a core Update or patch.

Ooops, ignore my post......it only applies if you're writing oscript code in a WebReport using the Server Side Scripting feature.
