Object Importer Exporter question

We have 3 environments Dev, Test and Prod and are currently working on the Dev environment. When the time comes to export data from Dev to Test and finally to Prod, would I need to install Object Exporter in Dev and Object Importer in both Test and Prod?

Object Importer is a framework that allows people to import objects(documents,folders,rm etc with a lot of excluded things which is in documentation). You will write an xml file to do that according to examples(syntax) in its programming guide.Mostly used in pre-populating data from file systems retiring other document management systems etc.

Object Exporter is a utility that exports chunks of livelink  data into the syntax for OI.

CS10.5 has a Transport Mechanism have never used it but for people familiar with XMLExport & XMLimport that is new wine in a old bottle

People like GCI have written more efficient tools that covers many other things not supported by OI/OE.

Now common sense applies.I hope you can take it from here.

I wonder how one could debug livelink  if Fiddler, Wireshark and Softerra LDAP browser was not invented and not free
