Custom object type shows as UNKNOWN in search engine

I have a module that provides a custom object in a CS10 environment. The object works fine in the environment, and the name of the object shows up in facets, etc. When searching, however, the object type displays as UNKNOWN in the search results filters under File Type. How can I correct this issue?

Note: I will cross post this issue in the search and index forum, in case it's something that needs to be resolved at the search engine rather than the builder level.

The DCS.ini file contains rules for associating a Content Server subtype with an OTFileType.
