CS10 + Customized Login page with Tomcat as webserver and LDAP realm enabled

Hello guys,

I am quite new on customizing CS10 as well as programming. I am more specialized on Administration and Designing CS10 for Customers.

I have a request, and this is working already.

The request is to integrate my company Directory application ( we called Identity Manager, based on SunLDAP) and we could do it by setting up Tomcat as the Webserver with the LDAP realm. However, the login page is not nice, as a Windows Authentication Popup window is shown to the end users, and they are requesting to have the same login page we have with Content Server 10.

Do you guys have any idea how can we do it or where to start from?

I doubt if you need any programming for this .From what it sounds like the challenge is issued by IWA , so check if the livelink application webserver or its cgi is protected by IWA .If you change that to anonymous then livelink will show you standard manual login .Is that how user's like to use livelink in your org or are they expecting to go straight into the application.

The livelink authentication OOB is very simple it will either trust your webserver's authentication it is a setting in livelink,
or you can say obtain authentication from OTDS(which is a TomCat Server that knows how to reach out to many directories including LDAP or AD)

The easiest for me and many others to understand is you would have to type in in the livelink application(and you need SA on profile) this RH

<livelinkURL>?func=admin.testargs this would tell you and us what authentication method is being passed if you see REMOTE_USER with domain info then you are basically protected by IWA

I do not know other webservers than IIS and AD so a little probing and help form people like Mark Simm should get you going in no time

I wonder how one could debug livelink  if Fiddler, Wireshark and Softerra LDAP browser was not invented and not free
