Im currently looking to the possibilities of the REST API and UI Widget functions for one of our customers who wants to migrate an existing DMS plugin towards CS. The core fuction of this plugin is a search based on metadata where the result is a list of document with columns representing the metadata. However I can't find a method in the current available REST API methods.

Of course I am able to use the search XML API, but I was wondering wether and how the search area is covered in API v1. If yes, is could you provide an example?

Hi Ludwig,
Rest API v1 contains search functionality for executing Search Query objects. The Search API remains the preferred interface for general search execution.

I don’t think there is a REST api for search yet. It comes with CS 16.
You can currently use the XML Search API. In the latest CS update you are able to pass the REST api token for authentication of this API.
