Changing the font colour for System Messages

Hi,

Recently we have upgraded LL 9.7.0 to CS 10.5 on pre prod environment.

To upgrade the production environment we would like to give a downtime notification to user on the workspace screen.

By configuring the system message I am able to prompt a custom downtime message for users for read only mode.

Now my query is to change the font of that custom message.Since it is the corner of the page and of same font as the workspace, user identification is tough.

Please advise on how to increase the size and change the colour of the font for that custom message.

Suggest if there are any possibility of marking it as marquee control in red colour.

These changes are to be done on Livelink 9.7.0 version.

Instead of using the News Player which is very small what you could do is

Go to the Global Appearances Volume and create one Global Appearance.Make a good looking message and put it somewhere.It will cascade prominently into most of the places.Marquees are very 20th century according to web pundits.In any case the news player does change if there is more than one news
The way we do is basically make a back up of webnode\browseview.html find a convenient place in the body section immediately after the <Form tag put a big bold red message.

The java applet that gives you the NEWS PLAYER can also be changed by changing applet parameters.It is in the old documentation.If you find an article that says how to change the java applet that gives you WF then that methods may work as well.

If you are about to upgrade the production system, that is a full outage since users will not be allowed to log in, there is no read-only mode. They would be presented with an error page about schema outage. I would suspect that you would be putting such a page redirection on the webserver. Then you can do anything you want.
