LiveLink and .NET WinForms application

Hi, we need to integrate our WinForms .NET application with LiveLink server which one of our clients is using. (They have LiveLink Content Server v.10). We use VS2013 and C# as main language for development. Could you please advise how can we start? As far as I understand, LAPI is not supported anymore. Should we use AppWorks? Will it work for WinForms app? Any other SDK?

In my opinion you can use SOAP based development.I am not sure what WinForms is but if it can call a WSDL then it should work.Recenly the R&D team of OT asked developer community this.

You can probably get LAPI to work for you but it may not be the direction you want to take.

I am not aware of any RESTAPI deployments in the org for your immediate benefit.

Saying "WinForms" I meant standard .NET Windows application. How can we get SDK or set of .NET compatible DLLs for working with LiveLink server? Googling gave us some examples like this: http://burntjet.co.uk/programs/livelink/lapi/

It seems like there was com.opentext.api DLL used in the code. Is that DLL still available for using?

The Livelink providers OT started providing developers with a more modern stuff SOAP based

I have been assisting ConocoPhillips integrators with code samples and setup questions . There is also a RESTAPI which I am not familiar that is what you called AppWorks

So unless there is some compelling need for you to use LAPI you should switch that is my honest opinion.
