Hi Team,

I am working on the report for the Workflow and stuck with the below details,

1) where is the WF archived date stored, I mean which table?

2) As we have the link to get the categories attributes ID (?func=attributes.dump) similar way do we have anything to get the attrbute ID for the form attributes? How do we get the ID for the Form attrbutes?

3) Can I get any sample report which has pulled out the result from the WFATTRDATA table. The actual form field data is stored in the row and has ID for each attribute in the WFATTRDATA. So it is difficult to get the result into different columns. A sample report will help me out.

When a WF is archived the state changes, the WF stays exactly where it is: WWORK.

Here's one that pulls out a lot of detail (from Oracle), though not from that table.

The columns of WFATTDATA are similar to LLATTRDATA, but has less columns. You don't need a Category ID since they're already associated with an object: the WF. The Attribute types are the same as they are elsewhere....listed in the Schema Companion and Reference Guide for LES X.X.

Hi,

I have created the required report in the Development box. Now we need to move the report to the QA and finally to Prod. I guess that the Attribute ID would change for all the Workflow attributes. So if it does change, is there a way to check what all attribute ID are there related to those attributes?

In Development, I processed one of the WF and tried to manually look over in the WFATTRDATA table in respective columne WF_VALUE or WF_VALSTR based on datatype and pull out the attribute ID. So do I need to follow the same step in QA as well? Or is there a table which maintains the WF attribute name and its resp attribute ID.

Agreed. Something has to hold the names assigned and that's not found in the WFATTRDATA table. I looked in the DTREE, DVERSDATA, WWORK, WSUBWORK and couldn't find a reference or a CLOB or BLOB column that held data related to this.

The other "WF" tables are specific and unrelated to Attributes.

I didn't see them in the CATEGORY volume.

WDATA table with the value of the initaited wf can be filtered for WD.DATA_SUBTYPE=3; Something like this

select * from wdata wd where
WD.DATA_WORKID=11560483 and WD.DATA_SUBWORKID=11560483 and WD.DATA_SUBTYPE=3;

pos 1 is for attchments,2 for comments,4 for forms

That will give you the Assoc Data Structure with Display Name and (ID) data structure.The RH called attributes.dump parses the datastructure out of a category definition file(just like a document wfmap definitions are files) .If you know Oscript or some other livelink programming language the data structure can be parsed and made into human readable form.If you are adventorous a littel bit of regexp stuff with texpad or notepad++ can give you that info as well.

Once you have the ID's then it can be read of wfattrdata.

Usually people will create views or functions in database to basically enhance portability.Just like if you copy a category from test to QA to Prod only the dataid part changes in different envs I would not think livelink will change the internal ID's.WF attrdata exists just like category data fashion except that it is held with the initiated id of the WF.

You also need to sign an NDA where OT will send you the schema info.Colin will certainly say that schema document is not needed but for mortal like us it is a good read

This is one of the more painful aspects of developing functionality around attributes (whether it's category or workflow attributes). The attribute key (being the CatID/AttrID pair) is instance specific, and you don't want to hardcode references to these values inside your LiveReport, OScript module, or WebReport since it reduces portability.

This is a problem I'm addressing in my RHCore framework. I've created a configuration page that allows a key to be defined on each attribute. For example, say I have a category "Document" with attribute "Expiration". In the configuration page I could define the attribute as having the key "DocumentExpiration". I can then call a function in OScript to map the key "DocumentExpirtation" back to the category and attribute ID pair. As long as the keys are consistently defined there are no issues with portability among instances.

I'm still figuring out how to bring the idea to LiveReports and WebReports, but I've found the approach very useful in my OScript development.

Thanks for the respond. I do see table for category i.e. CATREGIONMAP. It has all the attributes, category name and the attribute ID. Same way there should be the table for WF attribute table. I am trying to look at the DB side and pull out information, but if anyone has this information, please send the details so it would be easy

Good suggestion, I agree to have the view created for the attributes so no need to hardcode the values and that can be easily migrated to QA and then to Prod. I would work on this

Ask for a feature request although in my experience if you know or learn oscript it is a very easy thing to do. In our org there is a lot of bulk loading activities and people who do not have access to see the Category Definitions submit load sheets .So we extended the code so it is much more easier for them to understand the category implementation.

@Chris That sounds like a good idea. I am pretty sure you are implementing some kind of checks so that another unwary user won’t come up with the same exact string like in your example “"DocumentExpiration”.Naturally that user should get an error saying that the combination is already taken .
