Archivlink and ELS 10.5

Hi,

We have succesfully stored a document using els and now want to be able to retrieve it using the archivelink in SAP.

How can we obtain the link to use for the archivelink?

From the documentation I understand you have to go via els so would that mean that the link would look something like this?

http://<server>:<port>/OTCS/cs.exe?func=ll&objid=<nodeid>&objAction=download

The 'standard' archivelinklink uses the docId generated by the Archive server but I see no way of retrieving this via els.

Hi Sander,

An ArchiveLink URL looks like this:

http://as:8080/archive?get&docId=DF11687DB88867F1BAE90022194F75C5&contRep=SAPTest&pVersion=0047

You need to know the contRep(Archive) and the docid which is in the providerData table in Content Server.

However, I am not sure about the background of your question. Why would you create ArchiveLink URLs manually?

Hi Frank,

In short the scenario is as follows. The customer has SAP document presentment, so using streamserve to archive documents and the archivelink is created.

However they also want to generate documents from outside SAP using els but want to be able to view the documents using archivelink.

So we need the Archivelink URL. I understand how the link looks like. The question is how to obtain the docid using els? When we create the document (using the UploadContent of the docman service) I now only get the nodeid of the document in CS.

Hi Sander,

One way to achieve this is to initially archive the documents into Archive Server. Thus you know AL docId and contRep.

If you also need the document in Content Server, you can use EL to declare the existing AL document as document in Content Server.

This functionality is part of our Extended ECM product.

If the documents are initially put into Content Server, you could use EL getVariantInfo call to read docId and contRep. But this works only for plain Content Server documents (i.e. not for EL-typed documents).
