Dynamic link

Is there an easy way to create a dynamic link.

Problem:

In CS there are some folders abc with documents stored.

Additionally in CS there are many business workspaces and each of them needs a link to one or more of the abc folders.

The connection between of them is a category attribute.

Finally I need a link which is created each time when a new business workspace (with category attribute 123) is created that points to a folder abc (which also has the category attribute 123).

Any ideas are welcome.

There are different solutions depending on the dynamic behavior you want to support.

It is possible to create a short cut to the folder in the business workspaces automatically. I don’t know if you need to support updates or not.

The best way to do it is implementing a CBCategoryUpdate, which will be called every time an attribute is updated.

You find it in the LLIAPI OSPace in the NodeCallBacks object, which you need to orphan into your own module.

If you are considering Oscript then OT has left for you convenient hooks called "Node Callbacks" which are a verry easy way to intercept Node activities and Metadata Activities.You should see the callbacks in the main lliapi object.Mostly programmers will write it to a table or a file system and try "asynchronous" methods because if you write it "synchronously" and run into trouble it will be difficult to re-create the event.
