User Multivalue Attribute

Hi all,

I need to create a custom OScript page in which user can select multiple users but I don't know how to implement this.

I know attribute user is of type integer but I don't know how to insert the graphic user input into my page.

Can anyone help me?

I'm using OClipse with CS 10.5 sp1.

Hi Irene,

A similar question was recently asked in the WebReports forum (link). A few suggestions were offered (including one from me). As far as I know there is no reusable multiuser picker available in the core product, and developers are left to write their own.

I've had this requirement multiple times and was tired of reinventing the wheel each time I needed it. I resolved it by writing my own reusable widget. The widget is a mashup of jQuery, KnockoutJS, and a custom request handler. The request handler is there for returning a list of users based on a search criteria, and this is used to populate a list of suggestions as the user types (e.g., like an autocomplete).

The widget looks like this:

As you type a list of suggestions are displayed below. You can click on a name to add it, and also sort the selected names with drag and drop. The selected user IDs are written to a hidden form field (as a JSON array), which can be consumed by the server when submitting the form.

I tend to avoid the standard user picker in Content Server since it takes at least six mouse clicks to search and select a user based on their login.

Perhaps this will give you some ideas on how to approach it.
