Leading blank space on all report results

We have multiple Live Reports and just realized that all report results have a leading blank space in each and every returned column. I also created a Live Report with a simple query to get data from a table column and it also has these preceding blank rows in each cell returned. The issue is when users export these report results they are not happy with the excel generated that has the blank space and the date fields are also formatted as general type in excel instead of Date type. Any help is really appreciated.

I disagree with the statement that this does not occur in Excel using a web query. I get the same leading and trailing spaces when I populate Excel with data from the web query.

I guess a quick Excel macro to remove the spaces is a possible solution, but is added complexity, steps, and complaints from users.

If anyone has a solution for this please post it.

I was able to see the &nbsp in the WR reportView Rows section in front of each value and removed it to fix the issue. For e.g. I had below earlier

<TD> [LL_REPTAG_2 /]</TD>

I'm not sure if it's related to that but there was an old bug in internet explorer that made formatting empty tables cells impossible unless there was some content in them, so the solution was usually to insert a non breaking space in every cells to be sure that the formatting was applyed...

But frankly I do not know the original reason for this. Maybe someone from OT would give a much better explanation for theses extra spaces before and after every value in LiveReports and I think also in Xml outputs.
