Object Importer Syntax

Hello. I've created an OI xml file to create shortcuts to documents but I'm wondering if there is syntax I could include to have the shortcut being created inherit the category/attributes of the source document without having to include all attributes in the xml.

Just wondering if a URL to the open command or properties to the original Object may serve you because aliases(shortcuts) are designed to have other metadata.If OT makes the code change it will defeat the others who may not want it inheriting the original object's metadata.

Thanks. Completely understand but the way we use shortcuts is a little different. Users access the documents from a different application so having the source metadata on the shortcut is just easier. Just thought there might be something syntax wise that would tell it to inherit or not inherit from the source. I'll get around it by copying out the metadata from the original and bulkload that with the shortcut using the category/attribute syntax.

Object Importer and Object Exporter is very easy to customize and add missing calls.I just looked at it and thought of showing you this screen cap .I say this just to encourage if you need to as we extend this module here in many many different ways.
