Report on Documents within Business Workspaces for xECM

I need to create a report to join the attribute information for categories applied to the business workspace with the subfolder name and the folders documents. Does anyone have any suggestions or examples for this query.

The documents "type" is identifed buy the folder it is in, then the other relevant information (vendor, company code, etc) comes from the cats / atts on the worksapce.

You would tie in the LLATTRDATA table by two columns. The Category ID and the DataID. The Category ID can be obtained by using a DB tool and looking through CATREGIONMAP. From there you can also get the Attribute you want to retrieve….no sense in retrieving attributes you don’t need. The values in the LLATTRDATA are tied to the CATID, DATAID, & Attribute ID. There is an Integer field used for numbers like KUAF.ID and others. A Real number for other numbered values. DATE for a date. A String field for characters. A ValLong for very long values (BLOB).

The ATTRTYPE tells you what kind of value to expect:

-7 = a Date value

-4 = Real

-1 = String/text

2 = Integer

5 = Boolean/Flag

10 = String Popup

11 = String Multiline

12 = Integer Popup

13 = Data Popup

14 = User field

20 = Real Popup

101 = Group ID

305 = Item reference

And a few others.

Joining to llattrdata becomes much easier if you follow this article

I like this because then the category can be queried like a flat table.

The facet tables new in CS10 also behave like a flat table.

You might also benefit from that.

Also I thought at one time the BI Tool form Hummingbird had some very good utilities

I don't think the product has very good response at least in Livelink circles because WR was the main driver.

But they had cool re-usable functions for Oracle and SQLserver which would flatten the category reporting.

If you need to see it and can;t find it here I can check my old outlook files.

Here is code for an LR for Oracle for displaying all Attributes for a single Object.

One approach. It’ll give you an idea of the content and where to get it.
