How to restore myworkspace which was deleted by using Delete Node() in CWS?

Hi ALL,

I have deleted MyWorspace by mistake with admin account using CWS DOC Management function DeleteNode(). Appreciate if some one help me on this please?

Qns I have is

Do you have a catch like undelete or recycle bin,then its gui for recycle bin will proably support it.
If you are on modern livelink it is a logical delete.So things will remain until you purge it.
If you know your userid your personal workspace id should be that and negative ownerid i beleive useful relations that show how easy it is to find and code in livelink.
If very important restore a copy of the database and do a migration if you cannot create a pws then you may just have to move the objects to a new you userid.
Just like NodeDelete and NodeMove will get you back this in CWS.

Hi There!

yes, There is recyclebin and when i went there and checked there is no entry recorded for that particular date. is there any function that i can use to resotre the myworkspace back?

I get the below error:

Content Server Error: Error browsing the specified object.
[Could not access a Personal Volume.]

Hmm, I think your only choice is to restore from backups. A personal workspace isn't an object in the normal sense of the Content Server word, it is a workspace/volume. I've never tried deleting a personal workspace like that but personally I doubt that RecycleBin knows what to do with what is essentially a volume like Enterprise, Categories, Reports etc. I think it is gone (but you should probably put in a support request and get OT to verify that, I wouldn't trust me).

As Dave said the PWS subtype is not recyclebin eligible on a 10 system on which I tested.I deleted my workspace and found it gone from dtree,but I saw the events in dauditnew so looks like if you had important things in it your options re basically to get it from backup.The PWS gets created on user addition so if you can delete yourself and re-add you will get it and then copy contents manually that is what I would have done.Perhaps you could ask recyclebin to support PWS. Apologize to post that PWS is restorable without checking it so learned my lesson.

PS:Hopefully you will take this in the right spirit there is a small trick employed by livelink users against accidental deletion.The trick is to put a generation against a document or something.In this case when you issue the delete you will get back a message

DocMan.NodeDeleteError : There is a generationed item in the tree

It may not help you this time but just a precaution for next time.In RM rules one can say that you want it to attack locks and generations as well so it is not fool proof.RM legal hold is another way to prevent deletion but you may be using it out of context.

P.S again the CreateNode can create a PWS but unfortunately only in probably when a new user is created so while I tried creating one it did not jive so even if you do it may end up in a hack best thing is to create yourself as a new user or restore from backup.
