Can I make a category attribute hidden?

I don't see the option from UI. But programmatically, is it possible to create a hidden attribute for a category, or make an existing attribute hidden?

If you could define hidden for the forum people may be able to help you more.The hiddenness exhibits how? If it is in the we lingo layer using Oscript or Jquery you can hide it however when Interfaces are encountered like EC,CWS or the new mobile like do you have time money energy to do all of them?

If I remember correctly OT uses reusable weblingo to paint an integer type and other types if you look at attrpainter or attrrt standing for painting and runtime you might gets hints to not show it based on some business rules perhaps with that idea you can create a new attribute type?
