Hi All,

We have a requirement where we are creating workspace in livelink at different different folders .

And now we need to get that worspaces from webreport .

Written below query for the same and it is taking too much time how can we increase its performance .

Select unique (DataID*-1) neg_dataid,dataid,name,modifydate,createdate
from DTree, llattrdata where subtype=848 and dtree.dataid=llattrdata.id and llattrdata.DEFID='****'

How about creating index and how can we do that .

You should look which indices are already defined on llattrdata and then construct a query that uses these indices.

To me it looks like you want to retrieve workspaces of a certain workspace type. There are specific xECM tables that store this information, unfortunately they are not documented and difficult to use.

Another option is that you find the business workspaces of a certain types based on the assigned classification.

I also think your query will run more correctly if you don't pull everything from llattrdata. llattrdata has one row per attribute for the category version and the version that exists in dtree. If you look in the reporting forums lots of queries that mimic what you want and explained in great detail by OT and a lot of other forum contributors.No purpose saved by trying to post that here you have to use search and look for terms such as "llattrdata" in that forum.Newer Livelink code bases has support tables such as facets/columns etc that may also contain a very easily understandable data.

Hi Mukesh,

You'll want to investigate the execution plan that your dbms is using to perform your query. Offhand I expect that you'll see improvements by changing the query to better state your needs. For example you are not selecting values from the LLAttrData so instead of (implicitly) joining to that table you'd use a "where exists" clause. You'd also then be able to avoid the "unique" (aka distinct) option as DTree will only have distinct values for DataID. Finally the multiplication might throw off the query optimizer and negation is simpler. So I'd have:

Select - DataID neg_dataid, DataID, ModifyDate, CreateDate
from DTree where SubType = 848
and exists (select null from LLAttrData where ID = DataID and DefID = ****)

In any case you'll want to review execution plans before considering adding indexes. (I suspect the existing ones are sufficient for this query.)

Appu's point about LLAttrData is correct - it is a positively massive table with one row for each attribute value in the system. It also appears you're not interested in any of the values. Your query here:

Select unique (DataID*-1) neg_dataid,dataid,name,modifydate,createdate
from DTree, llattrdata where subtype=848 and dtree.dataid=llattrdata.id and llattrdata.DEFID='****'

would run more quickly if you appended "AND llattrdata.AttrID=1" - this will at least limit you to one row per DAPI node. However, that's only if you're doing a query looking for objects that have that category applied.
