Number of Active Users

Someone was running the out of the box report Number of Active Users and we suspect that it caused blocking sessions at the database level with the KUAF table, which may have temporarily blocked access for Content Server to create new documents as it tried to read that table to read the user name creating the document.  Has anyone have had this experience?  The DB backend is Oracle with Content Server CU 10.5 June 2016 release.

Hi Carole,

This LiveReport is a very simple SELECT statement, with no explicit FOR UPDATE or similar statement subordinate to it. I don't think I would expect this to hold any exclusive locks on the KUAF table. It would likely have a shared lock, so that other sessions can read from KUAF.

However, this shared lock may block anything that requires an exclusive lock for an update, so this could happen.

If this is a common enough occurence, it may be prudent to log a ticket for support.
