the query is:
select WSubWork.SubWork_Title, KUAF.Name, WWork.Work_WorkID from WWork, KUAF , WSubWork where KUAF.ID = WWork.Work_ManagerID and WWork.Work_WorkID= WSubWork.SubWork_WorkIDorder by WWork.Work_ManagerID
The supplied/canned WF Status LR is inaccurate. I wrote a couple of LRs to segregate what was in the Vol. This 1st one counts based on the various status’.
select casewhen waw.work_status = -2 then 'WF Stopped' when waw.work_status = -1 then 'WF Completed'when waw.work_status = 1 and waw.subwork_status = -1 then 'WF Suspended'when (waw.work_status = 1 and waw.subwork_status = 1) or (waw.work_status = 2) then 'WF Active'else 'Other ['||to_char(waw.work_status)||'/'||to_char(waw.subwork_status)||']' end ALLSTAT,count(*)from webactivework wawgroup by case when waw.work_status = -2 then 'WF Stopped' when waw.work_status = -1 then 'WF Completed'when waw.work_status = 1 and waw.subwork_status = -1 then 'WF Suspended'when (waw.work_status = 1 and waw.subwork_status = 1) or (waw.work_status = 2) then 'WF Active'else 'Other ['||to_char(waw.work_status)||'/'||to_char(waw.subwork_status)||']' endorder by count(*) desc
This next one counts a little differently:
select case waw.work_statuswhen -3 then 'WF Archived[-3]' when -2 then 'WF Stopped[-2]' when -1 then 'WF Completed[-1]' when 1 then 'WF Suspended[1]' when 2 then 'WF Executing[2]' end WFstate, case waw.subwork_status when -1 then 'SubWF Done[-1]' when 1 then 'SubWF Executing[1]' end SUBWFState, case when waw.work_status = -2 then 'WF Stopped' when waw.work_status = -1 and waw.subwork_status in (-1,1) then 'WF Completed'when waw.work_status = 1 and waw.subwork_status = -1 then 'WF Suspended'when (waw.work_status = 1 and waw.subwork_status = 1) or (waw.work_status = 2) then 'WF Active'else 'Other ['||to_char(waw.work_status)||'/'||to_char(waw.subwork_status)||']'end ALLSTAT,count(*)from webactivework wawgroup by case waw.work_status when -3 then 'WF Archived[-3]' when -2 then 'WF Stopped[-2]' when -1 then 'WF Completed[-1]' when 1 then 'WF Suspended[1]' when 2 then 'WF Executing[2]' end,case waw.subwork_status when -1 then 'SubWF Done[-1]' when 1 then 'SubWF Executing[1]' end,case when waw.work_status = -2 then 'WF Stopped' when waw.work_status = -1 and waw.subwork_status in (-1,1) then 'WF Completed'when waw.work_status = 1 and waw.subwork_status = -1 then 'WF Suspended'when (waw.work_status = 1 and waw.subwork_status = 1) or (waw.work_status = 2) then 'WF Active'else 'Other ['||to_char(waw.work_status)||'/'||to_char(waw.subwork_status)||']' endorder by count(*) desc

Thanks for your help but I am getting the following error and can't figure out what the problem is. I am running Content Serer 10.5 sp1 but I don't think that is the problem. I can't quite figure out where the syntex error is occurring.
[[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Incorrect syntax near '|'. - select case when waw.work_status = -2 then 'WF Stopped' when waw.work_status = -1 then 'WF Completed' when waw.work_status = 1 and waw.subwork_status = -1 then 'WF Suspended' when (waw.work_status = 1 and waw.subwork_status = 1) or (waw.work_status = 2) then 'WF Active' else 'Other [ ' || to_char(waw.work_status)|| '/' || to_char(waw.subwork_status) || ']' end ALLSTAT, count(*) from webactivework waw group by case when waw.work_status = -2 then 'WF Stopped' when waw.work_status = -1 then 'WF Completed' when waw.work_status = 1 and waw.subwork_status = -1 then 'WF Suspended' when (waw.work_status = 1 and waw.subwork_status = 1) or (waw.work_status = 2) then 'WF Active' else 'Other ['||to_char(waw.work_status)|| '/' ||to_char(waw.subwork_status)|| ']' end order by count(*) desc]
Microsoft Sql Server uses + to concatenate strings, but the query you have entered was written for Oracle and is using || (two vertical bars).
Change all occurrences of || to + for starters.
Also the query is using to_char which is an Oracle function.
In Sql Server you would probably want to use cast.

Being in SQL Server, replace the “||” with a “+”. Differences between the two. If there are more, check online.
I’ve been in MS SQL Server a little and what I know I went on line for. There are others trying to do some thing in Oracle they can do in SQL Server or Sybase or any other combination.
