User language setting in javascript

Hello,

Does anyone knows if it is possible to get the current language from a user's setting in javascript, in order for instance to display a message in the proper language in a customview?

If not, what other solution would be available for this?

Hi Alex.

Depending on where you want the customview to show, I wrote an appearance script that infers the language based on Element Names. Here's a short example for English and French:

if ( document.getElementById("EnterpriseGlobalMenu") != null )

{ // English page - do something.

} else if ( document.getElementById("EntrepriseGlobalMenu") != null )
{ // French page - do something else.

}

This particular example will work only on pages with the Enterprise Menu drop down (because of the element name), but if you find an element that exists on all pages - and whose name changes accordingly you could probably use that instead.
