Intermittent error, DocMan.NodeCreationError, Could not open file. [E1048772612]

Occationally, I will receive following error while uploading document to Content server via CWS

Dispatched service DocumentManagement threw exception DocMan.NodeCreationError : Error adding version to 'filename'. Could not open file. [E1048772612]

Any idea about the cause of issue?

You may want to put appropriately logging in Content Servers who are responsible for that error. In newer Livelink servers if you go to logging you will find something next to thread logging that says to dump SOAP requests. If this is an old Livelink then in logs, you would make debug=2 and say WantLapiLogs=true then if you look in thread logs you will see for each API request a section that looks like <InArgs and <OutArgs the inArgs is what the SOAP developer asked it to do OutArgs is what you are getting out

If I were to guess this could mean something like this the code is trying to add a version to a file that exists or a newly created node then it tries to get the file content and it is encountering a FileSystem error. It could also be that the code is trying to add a Version of a node that exists(could be a document node that livelink thinks there is but never has a corresponding file in its EFS). Logging makes files so I would move the logs folder to a conveniently big space. Sometimes connect logging also is needed to find this. Also, Livelink administrators are supposed to run Database Verification 5 at least every three months to ascertain the health of the system.

Since it is an intermittent error you might also want to see if your CS Nodes are well structured its load, its cookie settings, load balancer, etc because SOAP is nothing but Requests like users make albeit they come fast-hitting much more than humans can.
