Show Item Descriptions on Detail View

In the classic view there is the ability to have a user enable the setting to "Show Item Descriptions on Detail View"

Is there an override that can be made to the Smart UI to either respect the per-user setting or to globally show the item descriptions?

Do you mean having the description shown for every item (row) in the browsing table? Currently there is no such option available. The item description can be seen only in the Properties dialog.

You should file a feature request about this.

One idea could be using the details row in the table. If the NodesTable widget has too narrow space, it wrapps table columns to an extra row - details row. However, except for columns, which were cut from the right side, there is no additional information there.

Yup. That is exactly what I mean... Just like it does (and has done for ever) in the "Classic View".

There was a Feature Request already opened for it, as I am not the first to be looking for this. If anyone else is looking for this functionality, please open a support ticket and ask to be added to :

This feature is meanwhile available as "LPAD-55270 Display item descriptions in table view" since Content Server 16.2.2
