CWS C# - Initiate Workflow with Form Template Data

Hello,

Wondering if anyone was able to initiate a workflow with form template data. I was able to see all the workflow attributes and attachments package. whereas the Form package object is showing all null and cannot set any form attributes. I'm missing something here...

You aren’t missing anything here.

By design, the CWS cannot submit form data in order for you to be able to initiate a workflow. This was confirmed by support a few weeks back when I had raised the same concern.

Alternative is for you to first get the WF to initiate and then update the form data with the relevant information by accessing the form package.

But Pramod can you not do a POST in .Net or Java and call it programmatical ? I doubt if livelink would know if the post was being done by a programming language vs a browser

Yes. It’s very much possible if you plan on stitching AJAX-like technology together with your .Net or Java web services code for submission purposes though that’ll be an additional overhead. Don’t you think?

Thanks Pramod & Appu. I'm curious to test how it will work if we do POST from .Net but I think setting the data after getting the workflowid is more reliable.
