CAPI.Exec and parametes with accents

Hi all!

I'm trying to consult a DDBB table via CAPI.Exec . The query has some parameters, and it content could have special characters, like an accent. I don't want to replace this special character, in order to not use a "like" in the sql query. I can get the correct value with OTSearch.StringFromUTF8( request.value, "ISO-8859-1" ) function, but when I use it in the query it seems don't work, the sql query don't give any result, even if you do the same query directly to the DDBB that gives results.

Has someone had a similar problem? Has CAPI.exec any restriction with especial character?

Can you post your query for us to analyze.

The data in the database is stored as UTF-8, if you have set it up correctly. There should be no need to transform it in any way.

centro = OTSearch.StringFromUTF8( request.centro, "ISO-8859-1" ) //centro value is "Química"

query = " select DataID,DocID, Name, Code, [Tipo Documento] as TipoDoc, Estado, [DocVersion] as Version from CS.cs.gdf_documentos_pnt_renovar_n where Estado = 'Aprobado' " + \
               " and Centro = '%1'"

query = Str.Format( query, centro)

   RecArray docRes = CAPI.Exec(prgCtx.fDbconnect.fConnection, query)
