Compiler.Source() broken in CS16

I do some introspection at runtime on my scripts, which requires me to use Compiler.Source() to get the source of the script. This has always worked before, but is now throwing a "Generic builtin error" (with a stack trace) on CS16 in server mode (it works fine with Eclipse). Is this a known bug and is there an intention to fix it?

Hi David: Let me get back to you on this. It seems to only happen during startup (within __Init()) and isn't consistent. I'll see if I can create a simple module to reproduce it.

Hi David: It seems Compiler.Source() isn't thread safe, and explains why the problem doesn't occur in Eclipse. As far as I can tell calling Compiler.Source() on two threads at the same time causes the "Generic builtin error" and stack trace. It also explains why the error is most apparent at startup since I was calling it multiple times from __Init() (raising the probability two threads will call it at the same time).

You can test this by having multiple Compiler.Source() calls in a request, and repeatedly calling that request.

I can work around it for now, but the motivation for doing this was to defer the code generation I was doing in Builder to runtime in CS10.5/16. Until I can figure this out I have to stick with Builder...

In 16.0.x+, the source is a shared resource and no longer recompiled in each thread. This was done to reduce the memory footprint. But this has not been observed with the installation of patches etc. Which does follow a similar behavior. I will check with the team on this by weeks end.

David: Thanks for looking into it. On a related note, I occasionally use lambda functions in OScript (i.e., compile a script at runtime; usually to pass into a map or reduce function). Might this cause problems too?

I took the 952 version where you had posted and recompiled it on a 16VM on Oracle.Only changes I did was change agentid from 2992 to 12992 so that it may not collide with a OI agent range
