manipulating category info on a metadata popup

hi,

I have attached the property page that is invoked when ever we upload a file to a categorized container. We have a requirment to manipulate this data in two ways:

1. On load we will inject some values to populate the property fields of the category /

2. We would like to have some javascript handler that will call a function whenever the user click on TAB or Enter keys. This function will do some ajax and populate the property fields with the retrieved data.

I will appreciate some guidelines regarding if and how can we implement each of these two requiments.

What do you need to achieve from the business point of view? It is not clear from the technical description.

Is the additional property tab a category form, or your custom form? 

If it is the OOTB feature showing a category, the form initially shows the exact data loaded from the server. There is no way to tamper with them.

If it is a custom form, it can show and do anything.
