Perspective manager and Widgets

Hi All,

We have requirement to create the custom smart view.

I have craeted one webreport and added this webreport in the perspective but if I am applying this perspective active view on any container, it is not giving anything. I think so I am doing something wrong.

Could anyone please let me know how we can get the output of widget on the folder?

I have tried to apply the inbuild content server UI widgets but not getting anything.

Hi Anjali,

Does the instance have a valid WebReports license applied? Can you provide the code you've used for the WebReport and for the perspective? If possible, feel free to post some screen shots of the behaviour you're seeing, which will help us better understand what might be happening.

If there are multiple perspectives applied to the target Folder, you'll probably need to change the priority of the perspective or re-order them on the Perspectives properties tab of the Folder. When there is more than one perspective applied to a node, the conditions of the perspective are evaluated from top to bottom. The first perspective with a condition that evaluates to TRUE gets applied.

The priority was causing the issue.

Hello, I've created a Webreport which embeads a GIS Esri javascript page. Wihtin the WebReport view everything looks and works well. But whe I embeded this Webreport to a new perspective the page not show anything or even works not open.

There are some restricition regarding what type of embed content is able to handle?

Hi Roberto,

That content is really designed to be shown in its own page rather than be embedded into another application. There is the potential for a lot of script and style conflicts adding the page as it is at the moment. If you want to do an embed you should use the recommended approach in the developer docs here: https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/3/jssamples/portal_embed_in_website.html

Note: it's not always possible to fully control the behavior of external content loaded into the Smart UI in this way using an iFrame so make sure it behaves as required when loaded into the page.

I tested this approach and found that the embed code generated by the site came with styles which don't work in the Smart UI. You'll need to make modifications to the css in the WebReport before the map will display. I've attached a working example. When styles are applied within a WebReport that is loaded into the Smart UI all css declarations must be namespaced using the .binf-widgets selector. There are examples of this in the widget_html_report_image_icons_sample default reportview.
