WEBSERVICES having issue updating CLASSIFICATIONS in opentext using webservices

hi ,

we have a requirement to create folders in opentext , and we have accomplished the task using webservice 'DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT'. however we have an issue with the classifications tab, the classifications get updated with some default combination which we do not need.

we have couple of combinations to be updated whenever we create a folder based on my clients criteria. i was not able to find any method in 'DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT' to update CLASSIFICATIONS. can you let me know if there is a different webservice to use to update classifications as per the combination we need . thanks in advance.

When some one installs livelink they usually create on the IIS website the standard webservices

Authentication,DocumentManagement,Collaboration,Workflow,Member almost everything you need

when you install Classification you get its WS

when you install RMClassification you get its WS

when you install PhysicalObjects you get its WS

when you install SecurityClerance you get its WS

So you or your administrator has to deploy them in either IIS or Tomcat and download the proxes.

Many companies will not install the webservices server on the livelink server if that is the case the WSAPI server(IIS or TC) talks to Livelink on its LAPI port(web.xml,web.config)

Most people also confuse Classification(198) and RM Classification(551) they are different use cases.

In addition to what Appu pointed out, there is a separate document that covers the Classifications/RM/PO API. It also includes a section on how to configure these web services alongside the core CS endpoints.

thanks so much for your suggestions 'Krishnankutty" and 'Alex'.. will get in touch with our livelink admin to get the webservice configured for RecordsManagement.

i have one more thing to ask you guys , there were two more fields "Status" and 'Storage Medium" in the tab "Records Detail " . i am not able to update these also using the webservice 'Document Management '. should i be using a different webservice to update these fields . thanks in advane.

Without looking I wouldn'tt be able to comment.In a nut shell using DocMan you are getting the Node which is an important concept in livelink

The Node i s the Dataid/ObjID you see in the URL In short you locate the NodeID then use the different WSDL's provided by the different modules and do your work.
