Need Report for User Activity

Using Content Server 10.2 with Oracle. I need a report to show user activity whereby I can either enter the USER ID or lookup by name. I know I can run from the Audit Query but this returns hundreds of pages and no easy way to copy and paste into Excel.

Just need to see activty of a user that you get with audit query but need in Live Report.

I have searched this form and found some reports that might have been close but didn't work. I have a report to look up activity for deleted user but not for current user.

Any help greatly appreciated!

That type is not too hard to write. The report merely goes down the DAUDITNEW.PERFORMERID “path”. Depending upon how large your Table is, you might want to limit it with several iterations: 1 for this week, 1 for this month, 1 for last month, etc.

Attached are a couple of that kind of combination. Using the parameters built within the LR facility is better than specifying a date like I did on a couple of these.

These are written in Oracle.

Thank you for the reply and reports. I am not an IT person but the business owner so not able to write reports and aprpeciate the help I can get from this forum. Usually the reports are a SQL Statement. The database is Oracle. I am not sure how to take the reports you provided and create the report. I have attached the format. The reports I have usually begin with a Select statement.

Hello Karen,

Colin already gave the table name DAuditNew and the column t6o track PerformerID.

So you start off your report with a select from dauditnew where the performerid equals the user your are looking for.

If you have created live reports before then you already know how to use the %1 place holder to get user input.

As you mentioned you can also use the GUI and query the audit log that way.

You can also use that method to get your select statement. Simply do a lookup using the GUI audit page and then check the connect logs for the sql statement that was created.

Thank you Chris. I don't have access to the connect logs. I will try to figure out the SQL Statement. I have not written reports previously but do not how to fill out the form if I have the information to include.

Then I would direct you to the Admin Online Help. There is a full section on working with reports that goes through the formats, editing, etc. It also shows a sample livereport. Just search for livereport.

Thanks for the feedback, Chris. If anyone happens to have a report they use for user activity or history, please let me know if you can share the details. I will pursue trying to figure it out on my own, but have a compliance issue I am trying to address quickly. Appreciate your response.

Attached is the guts of one that solely pulls by PERFORMER. If has large CASE statements in there to breakdown the MIMETYPE and SUBTYPE. If you want to remove those or any others, that’s up to you.

The %1, %2, & %3 at the bottom are for the PERFORMERID.

What this doesn’t do is interpret the detail based on the AuditID/AuditSTR. Permissions changes are multiple records sometimes and the position of values determines what is done(removal or addition or subitem or one object, etc.) But this should report it just as an orderly dump.

SQL Developer doesn’t break down the DATE field to HH:MI:SS, so I do.

To run this in LR, copy-n-paste it into the SQL Text area. You’ll have to select the time of INPUTS, by choosing “User”. Then down below the SQL, you’ll have to specify 3 Inputs for each of the three parameters(User Input) and make sure they point to #1.

Leave everything else alone and save it. If you get an error immediately, it won’t be of much help. I use SQL Developer to give me an accurate error text. But this runs on the system I’m at now and has at others. It’s not proprietary.
