Hosting CSUI widgets in other web applications and CS authentication

I would like to embed CSUI widgets either core or custome built ones in other applicaitons. For Example i would like to host the myAssignments widget in my Loan Processign system so that a user in that application has a view into their workflows without leaving their app..

Couple of questions

a. is this feasable / possible ?

b. how do i send the the user credentials to CS to authenticate the current user.?

c. how do i obtain an OTDS ticket that can be used as the context?

That is feasible. Once you have the OTDS ticket, you can easily use it with CSUI and have CSUI widgets embedded in your page. The following topic has such details regarding using OTDS ticket with CSUI:

All web applications, that I am aware of, authenticate against OTDS/CS on the application server side. They generate the HTML/JS code creating the widget on the server side too, including the authentication ticket.

a. Yes, it is. Widgets run in SAP, Microsoft, Oracle or other portals.
b. You can pass credentials in the connection object, but you will probably want to pass an authentication ticket, becauyse you may not have access to the credentials.
c. OTDS offers SOAP WS and REST API to get OTDS ticket. If you have user credentials, you can use OTDS or CS REST API to get OTDS/CS authentication ticket. But usually you don't have access to user credentials in your web application. You have the user information in your application context. In that case you make an impersonation call to OTDS or CS REST API to get the user-specific authentication ticket with credentials of a privileged user (Admin), which maintain securely in your web application. The best solution is integrating OTDS in your SSO solution to be able to reuse the user context from your web application without impersonation to get the OTDS ticket.

For example, how to show the My Assignments widget, providing you get an OTCS ticket on the server side:
