Create document widget in SmartUI

Has anyone worked on creating custom widgets in SmartUI? I looked at the following video and looking for a document creation widget and a search widget as shown at 00:13 secs in the video.

The search attributes are placed horizontally as opposed to vertical which is a default setting.

I don't know, how the vieo was prepared, but let me assume, that the Search Engineering Object widget is the Custom View Search widget stretched to the width of two tiles.

Technically, it is possible to show the widget in a wider placeholder. And a form renders its fields in two columns automaticallyt, if there is enough space available.

Practically, you cannot create a perspective like that using the Perspective Manager GUI, which is limited to prevent the user from creating broken layouts. For example, the Custom View Search widget is limited to be placed to a small tile only on the "flow" tiled perspective. If you want to experiment, try the left-center-right perspective layout and place the widget to one of the three zones.

There is the "grid" perspective layout, which cannot be chosen in the Perspective Manager GUI and can be used programmatically to have a full control over the widget width, but also the full responsibility, that the layout does not get broken on a particular browser window size.

It would be possible to allow the Custom View Search widget become wider in the "flow" perspective in the Perspective Manager GUI too. Like the Welcome widget can take the space of two tiles, for example. If you need it, feel free to file a feature request, please.
