Tabbed Smart UI

Hello

I am new to the Smart UI functionality.

I have created a tabbed layout prespective to be used on the main folder, called A. The A folder has subfolders and I will like to link the subfolders to the taps on the tapped perspective.How do I archive that? The code for that perspective is attached.

Hi,

I don't believe this is possible in older updates of CS 16 and 16.2. As of 16.2.1 (2017-06 cumulative update) the Node BrowsingTable widget should have a widget option showing up in the Perspective Manager to specify a container other than the current one.

You would like to have NodesTable widgets on multiple tabs, starting in different folders and probably continuing in further browsing independently. This is impossible using the standard CS page (/app). The reason is the navigation concept on this page, which expects only one current container on the page. It means, that it is not possible to place two NodesTable widgets on the same perspective and expect them work independently, although different tabs appear as different scopes on the tabbed perspective. The explanation is more for a developer, than for an administrator... (See below.)

I recommend you using two widgets for this purpose. The first widget would be a tile with links to the folders, which you wanted to have on aditional tabs. For example, Shortcut, Shortcuts, NodeListWebReport or TileWebReport offer showing one or more arbitrary node links. The second widget would be the NodesTable. You would place the first tile either next to the table using the left-center-right perspective layout, or if using the tabbed perspective, on the same tab, or on two different tabs. Once you click on a link in the first widget, the table will show the content of the container behind that link.

Generally, if you want to make entering of a some containers quicker for the end user, think about using a widget as a "guidepost", which would offer the important links. The CS 16.2.2 (2017/09 update) introduces a new Shortcuts widget, which can point to from one to four nodes, as an improvement to the original Shortcut widget, which can point only to one node. We plan to introduce a widget, which you could configure to provide links to any number of nodes; something like Favorites, but configurable on every perspective. This is currently possible only with WebReports, or with custom development (CS UI SDK).

About using two NodesTable widgets

You have tried to configure the NodesTable widget for a particular tab with a concrete ID. For example:

You will be able to see different initial folders, if you open a container using this perspective, However, when you start drilling down to sub-folders, you will notice, that both tables perform "synchronized browsing". There is only one browsing context on the CS page (perspective), which contains only one current container.

If you implemented a custom page, you could support independent browsing by supplying different widgets different browsing contexts, for example:

Thanks you for sharing your inside. The last suggestion works better but the folders ID should not not coded by dynamically be processed, but I appreciate your input
